I started as a gymnast and worked my way into coaching gymnastics all throughout my teens and obtaining all my coach qualifications. After receiving a first class honors in Dance in the University of Ulster. I catapulted myself in a freelance life and way of working, I gained my own momentum through teaching in the community in Derry, Strabane and Belfast. I was part of Echo Echo Dance Theatre company as an ensemble member for six years performing, creating work, teaching the outreach programme and supporting the overall running of the company.
I have taught classes to all ages and abilities and i’m absolutely certain this has enhanced my artistic way of working and being. Delivering creative movement sessions is a massive joy in my life. I have worked with all ages and abilities and it is always a mix of detailed planning and spontaneous improvising with the group in the moment. Absolutely everyone loves moving and feeling free, it’s really just about how to frame the session in a way that provides both freedom and curiosity in the people there!
