“Which words do we choose when talking about memories and what is important to include or leave out?”

’Tales of embodiment’, was a series of workshops with a group of women from New Lodge Estate in Belfast. These women were initially brought together by my friend, director and beautiful documentarian Alessandra Celesia. The workshops explored the narrative of the body were an exercise in sharing and wearing our vulnerability as a strength, a celebration of the working class heroes of our city. We gathered and recorded tales with the aim of creating a soundscape to place within a gallery setting. Trevor Wilson took their portrait in their immaculate living rooms. Their was a work in progress sharing of images, soundscape and Bingo as a performative action in Catalyst Art gallery on 1st October 2020. This work is on going.

This was part of Catalyst Arts project, ‘Disappearing Wall’ which was hosted by the Goethe Institut, a cross European project in collaboration with Urban Scale Interventions.
