“Postpartum is forever” is a day retreat providing radical care for postpartum women. Lorna and I have been brewing this idea as we’ve moved through our own postpartum experiences. We believe that women who birth should be held and supported as they heal and grow into their new role as mother.

We will gather at Ash Cottage just outside Ballynahinch at 10am on Saturday 8th April. Ash Cottage is a therapeutic centre founded by Éadaoin Bhreathnach, an Occupational Therapist specialising in trauma and attachment. She has created a beautiful space with a sensory and symbolic garden as a site for reflection, healing and growth.

We will settle into each other’s company in the calm and peaceful studio space, meander on into delicious, body-led movement, share some musings on postpartum and gratitude for these juicy bodies that birthed our babies, that are still transforming, moving, growing, changing inside and out. Afterwards there will be time to reflect and share.

Around 12:30 we will sit down to share a nourishing and delicious lunch. Then there will time to enjoy the cottage’s beautiful garden before we re-connect back in the studio for reflection and closing circle. Our retreat will end at 4pm. We hope you can join us.
